Séan Leahy is a guitarist and sound engineer from West Kerry, with deep familial roots in the legendary Great Blasket Islands. Raised in this unique corner of Ireland, steeped in rich tradition and the raw rhythms of the landscape, Séan’s musical style is a direct reflection of his heritage. With a particular focus on the rhythms of polkas and slides, Séan’s guitar playing is influenced by some of the finest in Irish music, including Steve Cooney, Jim Murray, Tim Edey, and Donogh Hennessy. Séan has toured and recorded with a host of renowned musicians, including Jeremy Spencer, Steve Cooney, Tim Edey, Séamus Begley, and his own mother, Áine Uí Laoithe. Most recently, Séan had the privilege of performing on Broadway in Velocity, a show produced by five-time world champion dancer David Geaney, also from Dingle. Séan is also part of the popular band Super Céili, alongside accordion maestro Peter Staunton and renowned violinist and singer Niamh Varian-Barry-Staunton.
