Uilleann piper Pádraic Keane, a native of Maree, Co. Galway, comes from a renowned musical family. A highly regarded tutor, he teaches at numerous music festivals in Ireland and abroad. In 2011, he was honored with the TG4 Young Musician of the Year award. Pádraic has toured the United States as a soloist with The Irish Chamber Orchestra and collaborated with esteemed artists and ensembles, including Mícheál Ó Súilleabháin, the RTÉ Concert and Symphony Orchestras, and various string quartets. He has performed across Europe with Ragús and worked with Galway’s Irish-language theatre group, An Taibhdhearc. His recordings include contributions to ‘The Rolling Wave’, a compilation of young pipers by Na Píobairí Uilleann, as well as ‘Tunes in the Church’ and ‘Rogha Raelach’ from Raelach Records. He has also appeared at prestigious events such as the Masters of Tradition festival at Bantry House and the acclaimed ‘Other Voices’ series. Pádraic recently released his highly anticipated debut solo album, ‘In Full Tune’. Additionally, he has collaborated on two recently successful albums: ‘Beo’ with Macdara Ó Faoláin and Páraic Mac Donnchadha, and another with the group Keane Connolly McGorman.
